"How many are Your works, O LORD! In wisdom You have made them all; the earth is full of Your creatures. Here is the sea, vast and wide, teeming with creatures beyond number, living things both great and small."
~ Psalm 104:24-25
Do you ever ask yourself questions such as these?
Why do the waves not instantly consume the shore?
Why does the peacock preen in all his beauteous glory?
Why does the skunk spray... and the porcupine?
Why can a Jesus lizard run on water?
Why does a murmuration, breathtaking and powerful, murmur?
Why do sea turtles surf the current and salmon swim upstream?
Why do monarchs traverse a continent?
Why does the potoo remain still?
Why does the quokka smile?
Why does a human love again and again?
Why does the moon stand still?
All of the eons....
If the moon had any plans to turn and show us her back, even by the tiniest measure year after year, we would have seen, we would know.
There are so many things I wonder about this glorious world, this extraordinary galaxy, this seemingly boundless universe.
Do you ever just stand in awe and wonder and delight?
When you do, do you ever think...
He didn't have to do that.
The infinite creativity and beauty. All of the things we do and do not understand (far more of the latter.) All of the things we as humans have witnessed... not even a drop in the bucket of the phenomenon of time and space.
"How Great is Our God."
His works are truly awe-some. When we bear witness in truth, we are wonder struck
"Through Him all things were made, and without Him nothing was made that has been made." ~ John 1:3
Amen.
Tonight, perhaps step outside and bear witness to the extraordinary element of creation that is the moon. Breathe deeply and stand in awe. Attempt to observe the beauty of creation and know the blessing of it to the very core of your very cells... micro-universes in themselves.
Just a thought.
As you breathe the oxygen that was perfectly tailored for you, when you lay your head in a cycle of day and night made to fit, and you say your prayers to the Father, may you sense the depth of the miracles of creation and the miracle you are.
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for helping us to have the eyes to see and the ears to hear.
In the name of your loving Son we pray.
Amen.
"But ask the animals, and they will instruct you; ask the birds of the air, and they will tell you. Or speak to the earth, and it will teach you; let the fish of the sea inform you. Which of all these does not know that the hand of the LORD has done this? The life of every living thing is in His hand, as well as the breath of all mankind." ~ Job 12:7-10
"Let the heavens be glad and the earth rejoice; let the sea resound, and all that fills it. Let the fields exult, and all that is in them. Then all the trees of the forest will sing for joy..." ~ Psalms 96:11-12
"He who made the Pleiades and Orion, who turns darkness into dawn and darkens day into night, who summons the waters of the sea and pours them over the face of the earth— the LORD is His name—" ~ Amos 5:8
May the Good Lord bless you and keep you, friends... always, in all ways. Amen.
