Thoughts of a Novice Gardener... Part 2

"Jesus replied, 'It is not for you to know times or seasons that the Father has fixed by His own authority...'" ~ Acts 1:7 (BSB)

What a month or so it has been!

It seems to me we could all use God's presence and Peace at new levels and new depths. This I pray for us all.

As promised, we return to lessons I'm learning (and/or am reminded of) as I put my hand to sowing and reaping in soil.

The abundance of thoughtful guidance I've been provided by this one simple process is actually kind of astonishing... or not so simple I imagine, if you're doing it well.

When I originally sat down to start my seeds, I would have a handful and think, that one looks good, how about this one? Those would be the seeds that would go into the soil to hopefully sprout and produce; ostensibly, to fulfill the destiny set before them by their Creator.

The rest were tucked away in the envelop to be kept in a cool dark place for another time, another season.

As I was choosing seeds, separating them from those that would fulfill their potential another year, I thought of our loving Father.

How often does He have to comfort and reassure us when it is not our season, not yet our time? Perhaps we feel as though we've been tucked away in the cold and the dark, wondering if there is a path for us, wondering if we'll ever fulfill a purpose.

Whenever I think along these lines, I am reminded of shepherd David. I am reminded that he was chosen, set apart, and even anointed, well before he was ready to become and be and live out the life and work of King David.

How often are we the shepherd David version of ourselves in any given area of life, longing to be King David, with our loving Heavenly Father saying, slow your roll, my child. I know the plans I have for you.

Okay, maybe He doesn't actually say, slow your roll, but you get the gist. :)

Abba, Abba, Abba Father, Thank You for the sweet soul reading this today. May their heart be blessed with inexplicable peace. May they know You are guiding their every step. May they hear Your voice with great clarity. May they have the eyes to see and the heart to obey. May we, your children, walk in Your way always, and know to our very core that if we trust and obey, the journey we know on earth will be more joyous and greater and perfect for us than anything we could ever imagine and live out on our own; even through the seasons when we may be tucked away for another year, another time. Thank You for Your grace and mercy. These things I pray in the most holy name of Your Son.

Amen.

"I call to God Most High, to God who fulfills his purpose for me." ~ Psalm 57:2 (CSB)

"The LORD will guide you continually, And satisfy your soul in drought, And strengthen your bones; You shall be like a watered garden, And like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail." ~ Isaiah 58:11 (NKJV)

"Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, 'This is the way, walk in it'..." ~ Isaiah 30:21 (NKJV)

May the Good Lord bless you and keep you, friends... always, in all ways. Amen.

Bonus song of praise...
