Shanah Tovah, Beauties!

"The LORD also said to Moses, 'Speak to the Israelites and say, ‘On the first day of the seventh month you are to have a day of rest, a sacred assembly announced by trumpet blasts. You must not do any regular work, but you are to present an offering made by fire to the LORD.’'" ~ Leviticus 23:23-25

This evening, Monday, the 6th of September, 2021, marks the beginning of Rosh Hashanah.

If we've known each other for a time, you know how much I appreciate exploration of the knowledge of Scripture and tradition surrounding the Biblical holidays. There are so many beautiful layers of meaning, even when things land more on the side of tradition than Scripture. There's always more to learn.

The traditional start of the new year, is a moment to truly take time and take stock... Not of bad habits we want to improve or how we're moving the needle on the dreams and visions we have in this life. Instead Rosh Hashanah is a moment to get still and take stock of our relationship with The Father, to take an intimate look and assess the state of our soul.

Perhaps we take a moment to reflect?

If I'm being honest, I try to do this regularly. However, this day is a day of powerful opportunity to ask important questions.

What's working?

What's not working?

Where have we dropped the ball?

Where are we doing well?

What are the areas of life that could use growth? And, how might we facilitate that?

Which areas need pruning? What plan can we put in place to take action there?

Is there an area where we need forgiveness, from The Father, from others? Are there loose ends we could stand to tie up in that regard? (I'll tell you a secret, doing the work to get there grants remarkable peace.)

This is a time of spiritual realignment. So, it's a moment ripe for taking a good long look in the internal mirror, making an honest assessment, and beginning to nudge and ootch ourselves closer and closer to the child of God we were created to be.

Remember, that's who you are. A child of God, that is. I pray we might all walk through the world with just such a bearing, as the head and not the tail, one might say.

Wherever we currently stand in life, the time is always ripe to draw nearer to the Father and closer to who we are meant to be. This time of year strikes me as especially so.

As we dance into tomorrow and each of tomorrow's tomorrows, may we each blossom with intention into the contribution, the presence, the gift, the child we are fully capable of growing into.

Abba Father,

New Year celebrations are beautiful moments for new beginnings.

You know what we need. You know what we are capable of being, doing, and becoming in this world.

Thank You, for walking alongside us and helping us to do just that, with new mercies day by day.

May we be just the blessing in this world You would have us be.

This we pray in the name of Your most holy Son,

Amen

"Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me, put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you." ~ Philippians 4:9

"I, the LORD, search the heart; I examine the mind..." ~ Jeremiah 17:10a

May the Good Lord bless you and keep you, friends... always, in all ways. Amen.

Bonus song of praise... ♥
