"Sing to the LORD a new song;
sing to the LORD, all the earth." ~ Psalm 96:1
One might be tempted to raise a Hallelujah!!! We're in a New Year at last. 2021, here we come!!
His mercies are new each morning, there's no question of that. And, it's been an interesting year down here on earth for the vast majority of the global population. So, with the collective sigh of relief that seems to have come with the generally agreed upon but somewhat arbitrary turn of the calendar year, I pray we communally step into that newness.
It's a blank canvas. It's a blank 365 page book and we get to choose what to write on the pages.
That's something that gets my inner nerd a bit giddy. I think of all of the blank pages of my calendar that will be filled with memories and accomplishments, small and large, and a cheshire cat grin creeps across my face.
The blank canvas thing is kind of interesting. I wrote the words. I finished the above inner nerd paragraph. Then I went looking for the image above. After I finished tweaking the image, I remembered...
I happen to have a blank canvas hanging on the wall of my bedroom. I found it in my mother's things after she passed away.
I wondered what she intended to paint.
I wondered why she didn't.
I use it as a reminder to remember to do the things it's on my heart to do when it's on my heart to do them.
And, I use it to remind myself that so much of life is a blank canvas if we allow it to be. We get to paint those moments, those inspired actions, however we choose.
So, what's my point?
We're entering a New Year on the heels of a doozy.
Whatever your experience of 2020, even for friends who had their best financial year and/or greatest blessings ever, there were unfamiliar and unexpected stressors.
I wonder if we could indeed forget the former things (Isaiah 43:18,) if we could put on our new self (Ephesians 4:24,) if we could renew our strength in and through Him to soar and run indeed (Isaiah 40:31.)
I believe we can.
I believe you can.
I believe I can.
I believe we will.
Heavenly Father,
As each of us paints the blank canvas that is this year, I pray we be led each one and as one by Your hand, to walk ever in Your ways.
I pray Your glory in and through and upon every single one of Your children.
I pray our faithfulness would be great, and we would ever enter into Your gates with thanksgiving and Your courts with praise. For You do indeed have plans for each and every one of Your children... Hope, and a future.
These things I pray in the most Holy name of the Son. Amen
May your year be blessed.
May your days be blessed.
May your every breath be blessed.
... with His presence.
You are a gift. I am grateful for you. Thank you for being part of my world.
"Do not call to mind the former things; pay no attention to the things of old. Behold, I am about to do something new; even now it is coming. Do you not see it? Indeed, I will make a way in the wilderness and streams in the desert." ~ Isaiah 43:18-19
"...You have taken off the old self with its practices, and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator. ...Christ is all and is in all." ~ Colossians 3:9-11 (excerpts)
"May He give you the desires of your heart and make all your plans succeed. May we shout for joy at your victory and raise a banner in the name of our God. May the LORD grant all your petitions." ~ Psalm 20:4-5
May the Good Lord bless you and keep you, friends... always, in all ways. Amen.
Bonus Song of Praise... ♥
