As we've wandered through Advent, I've been pondering the gifts of the season.
Jesus is the reason for the season, the rest is just for fun!
His presence is far and away our greatest present.
It may seem silly, but I feel like I want to stay out of it a little bit this week. I'd like to keep my peace, more or less, and simply present you with a few points of access to your own Advent journey of peace.
I've curated three very different Christmas music videos that in a quiet moment were all able to spirit me off to a manger, to the sacred Gift laying in that manger... to the Gift who would grow to be my personal Rabbi and my kinsman redeemer.
But, just for now, the breathlessness of being in the presence of such a Gift sent by the Creator of the heavens and the earth, to be the Savior of the world; in a moment surrounded by creatures of creation, born into human hardship, in an utterly sacred moment, under the light of a star...
May this music take you there.
Abba Father, I pray Your blessing over the person reading this. I pray as they take the time to listen that Your very presence would fill their whole being and resonate in and between their very cells. That Your Majesty and the gift of the Messiah born would lift them higher, light their way and their lives, and draw them ever nearer to You.
All this I pray in the name of the baby Yeshua, Jesus, in a manger. Your gift to the world. Amen
