"Walk in obedience to all that the Lord your God has commanded you, so that you may live and prosper and prolong your days in the land that you will possess."
~ Deuteronomy 5:33 (NIV)
Hello, my name is Mercedes, and I'm a perfectionist.
I'm sure nobody out there knows what I'm talking about... ;)
Now that we have that out of the way, I'd love to tell you a story of liberation. :)
You know that saying, "Perfection is the enemy of done"? I have REALLY been trying to get that embedded in my brain for the past 7, 8, 9 months.
Do you ever have something you know you're supposed to do, but something seems to hold you back?
I'll tell you a secret about the LLLegacy family of ministry efforts... LLLegacy itself has been in the works for more than SEVEN YEARS along with Mustard Seed Moxie. Even worse, Delightful Meditation (which has not yet launched, but I'll let you know as soon as it does) has been on my heart to do for the past almost TWENTY YEARS!!! How embarrassing is that??? And, Praiseworthy Goods... which is a breath away from being able to launch, but has potential supply chain issues with the world on lockdown, so... I'll keep you posted on that... has been in the works for well over a year.
A friend of mine sometimes says that God will call us to something, but if we don't get our act together we'll miss out on the blessing of doing it because He'll get someone else to do the job.
In my case, I think God was kind, while He may have gotten others on board while I was sitting on my duff, He never removed the call. It's still square on my heart.
The other thing is, this website really isn't ready to go... as I'm sure you know! I was hoping to spend another month or two working on it and then do a nice tidy launch. But, as I've said before, time, tide, and pandemics wait for no (wo)man... It felt too important to show up, to bring music and light, to sing our song of praise, literally and metaphorically.
By the way, I also had no intention of music being any part of this, at least not for a long time to come, if at all.
So, Mustard Seed Moxie and I are growing together in imperfection.
It sometimes feels a little like being planted in... fertilizer... yeah, let's call it that. I'm sure none of you know what that feels like! :) But, guess what? It nourishes the sprouts, the seedlings, the plants; it gives them what they need to grow. And, we never never know what trial, tribulation, or desert place God will use for His purposes.
So, we take a deep breath, we look up and trust, and we step out in faith.
I know you know what I'm talking about, and I know you can do it!! Whatever the call on your heart.
I cannot express the freedom and joy I have experienced at being willing to put a toe in the water of the work He has for me to do and the response I have received. It makes me want to do a great big cannonball into that water... I get the sense that He is chuckling and shaking His head and saying, My child, some things take time. But, I think He is equally pleased that the writing He has placed on my heart no longer goes by email to a select few wise women counselors (as it has for years and years,) but rather has found an outlet that could just possibly find its way anywhere... as He wills it, in His way, in His time, for His purposes.
By the way, those emailed practice writings are going to find their way into the archives of this page little by little, so if you're ever looking for something to do... who knows, maybe you'll want to go digging.
Currently, this mini-ministry is serving about a dozen people.
But, I have to tell you, even that brings me to tears with a sense of overwhelming blessing. I got a call yesterday saying, Thank you for showing up. Please keep doing it.
So, I shall.
THANK YOU GOD, for the privilege we all have to be Your servants, to shine Your Light in the darkness. Help us to hear that Still Small Voice and know it. Thank You for giving us the eyes to see and the ears to hear and the will to walk out the path You have set for each of us, both together and in the roles that only each one of us can fill. THANK YOU for Your many many blessings and Your many many miracles. All of this we pray in the most holy name of Your Son. Amen
"May the Lord direct your hearts into God's love and Christ's perseverance.'" (NIV) ~ 2 Thessalonians 3:5
"... He leads me beside quiet waters. He restores my soul; He guides me in the paths of righteousness for the sake of His name." (BSB) ~ Psalm 23:2
"And the Lord will guide you continually and satisfy your desire in scorched places and make your bones strong; and you shall be like a watered garden, like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail." ~ Isaiah 58:11
May the Good Lord bless you and keep you, friends... always, in all ways. Amen.
Bonus song of praise... ♥
We are more than conquerors, beauties.
